Thrive - Life Changers programme in Birmingham

Thrive is a fantastic gardening for health charity, which aims to improve people's physical, mental and social health through the power of gardening and horticulture. Vitax is proud to support Thrive’s Life Changers programme in Birmingham, which will provide a vital lifeline to people living with a life changing illness, injury or long-term health condition, or who have experienced a life-changing event, such as those recovering from a stroke, cancer, surgery or living with diabetes, multiple sclerosis, long covid or other health conditions.

“With Vitax’s support, we can reach more people in Birmingham who are facing challenges. Together we can help to rebuild confidence, develop new skills, and find renewed purpose through therapeutic gardening. The programme offers practical support in a safe, nurturing environment and can be a crucial step towards greater independence or employment."

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust - Secret Garden Project

Hidden within the grounds of Glenfield Hospital in Leicester, the Secret Garden Project aims to restore the walled kitchen garden and wider area to provide a therapeutic environment for patients, visitors and staff. Brought back to life by a small project team and a group of enthusiastic volunteers whose fundamental purpose is to create a space to enhance mental health and wellbeing, the project is primarily funded by donations and grants.

"The tranquillity of the garden has a real impact on those who use it and without the support of businesses such as Vitax, we would be unable to complete certain areas of the garden. We are delighted to be one of Vitax's beneficiaries as they are fabulous to work with and really listen to what we need to progress the garden."
